it's holy week once more. my smile is a mile wide as everyone else has practically scrambled out of the metro to fulfill their religious duties/vows or for some r and r at the beach or in the mountains. aside from christmas vacation, holy week is the only time that there is no traffic at all. well, except for those areas around the churches.
as for me, i am just sitting pretty in the house with just the parentals as the brothers have their own agendas. i am so enjoying the summery scents and basically the silence that pervades the whole city. if i do go out, the traffic is nonexistent and places that "normally" take twenty minutes to get to, for example, only takes five minutes as it is supposed to in an ideal world. but staying at home doing nothing is ideal in this time of year. just today i have taken a nap more times than the usual (i never take naps unless it's during a class/seminar), ate whatever and whenever i wished, watched tv, and read two books at intervals (of love and other demons by gabriel garcia marquez and sister by rosamund lupton).
the only thing i wish for is a swimming pool in the backyard that i could take a dip in. today was too hot that the poor electric fan has been at work since this morning. and even if the malls were open, i would not dare to venture there even for the air conditioning.
tomorrow would most likely be a repeat of today, unless the oldies decide to go to church for the good friday service.
