so facebook has become a battleground for filipinos in the heat of this election season. it has become too noisy for me for comfort just seeing all those articles, photos, memes meant to put down each others' preferred candidates. logging into facebook these days is a surefire way of seeing raw human nature in action. man, i will be so happy when all this circus is over.
nobody knows who my choices are apart from three friends. i actually had a rousing discussion with one of them, with both of us speaking of the pros and cons of our choices. we weren't getting angry or anything, our conversation was just getting more intense by the minute but then while i was talking, this other friend who was with us stopped me from further speaking up, fearful that the two of us might eventually get into a fight and that our friendship will be over after the discussion. i was like, "what??????"
well, i ended up getting irritated anyway and told my friend the interrupter so. too bad that the friend i was having a discussion with wanted to listen to my thoughts more but thanks to the other one, the conversation stopped cold turkey. oh, well. we're still friends anyhow. i just don't like that kind of thinking that we would fight just because of political differences. unfortunately, that seems to be the case with some people, which is why i refrain from talking politics with people who are more volatile. Lord knows how volatile i can get already.
nineteen days to go before election day. Lord help us all.
